Campaigns and projects nationally and globally are taking place to fight against early and forced child marriage. Interventions may range from:

  • Health and Reproductive Rights
  • Social Safety nets.

Projects and Interventions

  • Advocacy to Curb the Child Marriages- Project

    Sujag Sansar Org (SSO) with support of Norwegian Human Rights Fund (NHRF) is working on child marriage issue since 2010.  SSO started the first phase of the project in five villages of taluka Johi, District Dadu where the ratio of child marriages was very high. In second phase of the project, SSO covered more 10 villages of the taluka. Thus, through this project SSO got the remarkable achievements. Keeping in view the intensity of the issue SSO-NHRF has extended the project on Province level by targeting the five districts of Sindh i.e. Umerkot, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Dadu & Larkana.

  • Awareness to Action

    HANDS in Collaboration with Rutgers WPF launched an awareness campaign, through this project “Awareness to Action” and trained 300 young peoples to create awareness among masses in various areas of Sind Province which aims health of girls & to ensure safe motherhood.

  • Community sensitization to control early age marriages

    Interactive theater performance was demonstrated for sensitization of local community on early marriage issue in a village of Mattiari.This Interactive theater performance was demonstrated under Adolescent Girls Empowerment Project for sensitization of local community on early marriage issue in a village of Mattiari.

  • Create a child marriage free zone in Pakistan

    Campaign that aims to mobilize communities, including parliamentarians, parents, and youth, to end child marriage through legislation, awareness, and advocacy.

  • That’s No Way to Get Married

    Save the Children Pakistan Program is currently implementing a project entitled “THAT’S NO WAY TO GET MARRIED” through its partners DevCon and DCHD.The proposed project is being implemented in two districts of Sindh (Larkana, Shikarpur) and two districts of Punjab (Muzaffargarh and Lodhran).

    The main objective of the proposed project is to raise the awareness among stakeholders of against harmful effects of child marriage, and to build the capacities for action against child marriage. Save the Children through its partners will hold awareness raising and training workshops for influential target groups, including Nikah Registrars, Police Officials, Judicial Officers, CSOs representatives and Journalists.  Similarly 4 radio campaigns and other advocacy activities will be conducted to create demand for enactment of Prohibition of Child Marriages legislation in Punjab and implementation of “Sindh Child Marriages Restraint Act 2014”
